How to apply
Applying to our CDT is a simple three-step process. All you have to do is check your eligibility to apply to the CDT; choose from the projects that we have on offer; and then send us a pre-application form. We will then get in touch with you to confirm if you have been shortlisted for a full application and interview.
You must read our criteria page first to check if you are eligible to apply for funding and have the right undergraduate degree.
Funding was available for ONE international student for 2018/19. This space has now been filled and we are not accepting applications from international students who require funding. We do welcome applications from students who have secured their own funding.
For alternative funding options, explore the international student research funding that is available from King’s College London.
The next part of the process is choosing which of our available projects you’d be interested in studying. We currently have only one project to fill with an immediate start (January, April, July or September 2019 entry).
This form should detail your academic background in full, including all modules taken and grades received. You should state your three preferred PhD projects from the list of available projects, including the number assigned to the project, the project title and the name of the first supervisor. Please also send a covering letter and a CV, including 2 referees (who are only contacted after interviews).
In addition to CDT projects, we accept applications on a rolling basis for the EPSRC Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) projects. Studentships for DTP projects are 3.5 years long.
If you are successful and are invited to interview we will ask that you submit a full application via the King’s admissions portal prior to the interview. The full application will require a copy of your transcripts and references.
If you have any questions regarding the application process or the projects available, please get in touch with us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
